Paloma Martinez-Cruz

Congrats to Dr. Paloma Martinez-Cruz, Program Director of Latinx Studies in the Center for Ethnic Studies and Professor of Latino/a Cultural and Literary Studies in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Her recent biography, Trust the Circle: The Resistance and Resilience of Rubén Castilla Herrera received the silver medal from the International Latino Book Awards! Rubén's story as a queer Columbus activist with farmworker roots resonates on the national level. In announcing her award, Dr. Martinez-Cruz said, [this] "encourages me to keep writing about Latinx community voices that are often unwelcome in mainstream outlets." Congratulations!
