Associate Director Sam Aranke wins MLA book award

Associate Director of the Center for Ethnic Studies Sam Aranke (Associate Professor of History of Art) has won a major award from the MLA (Modern Language Association) for her book, Death’s Futurity: The Visual Life of Black Power, published last year. The award is the William Sanders Scarborough Prize, awarded annually to an outstanding scholarly study of black American literature or culture. Congratulations, Sam!
